Song information

"Born to Fly" is about a person wanting to expand their horizons and dreams of being somebody, and is tired of being stuck in the same place, and wants to get out where the action is. The song makes analogies to the wings of a bird spreading its wings and flying to its new destination, with Evans saying how she was born to fly and fly away from her home and go somewhere else. The song was released in late 2000, and an album of the same name was also released. The single slowly climbed the Country charts, but hit the No. 1 spot on the Country charts in the first week of 2001. The song was also a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, reaching No. 34.
